How to Clean Vinyl Care & Maintenance
Luxury vinyl plank and tile are versatile, durable, and often entirely waterproof flooring products that can handle just about anything. Because of this, it has become one of the most popular flooring options in households with kids and pets. However, as with any floor, the effects of time & traffic will take their toll on vinyl, and it does still require some basic maintenance to keep it performing its very best.
Daily vinyl flooring care tips
Practice preventative maintenance first. Move furniture carefully, using floor protectors where able. Invest in doormats and place them throughout your home, encouraging family members and visitors alike to use them. Use shades, blinds, or curtains to prevent UV damage when you’re not using your room.
For daily care, simply vacuum (without a beater bar) and dry or damp mop as needed to remove dust, sand & grit particles. When damp mopping, be sure to thoroughly dry your floors with a clean towel immediately after cleaning. If needed, use cleaning products as recommended by your product’s manufacturer.
Avoid using abrasive scrubbing tools & cleaners.
Dealing with damage
One of the best things about vinyl flooring is its ability to handle just about any mess. Simply wipe away with a cloth.
However, if you have a seam open, a cut, or a gouge, cover it immediately & avoid washing the area. You should promptly call us for repairs. You can’t always avoid wear, but you can be proactive about handling it.
